There isn't a public, nationwide dataset that records outages at the individual address level — the finest granularity that's consistently available across US utilities is county. Your ZIP code is all that's needed to identify your county and pull its real outage history: recorded event counts, average and worst-case durations, and a reliability grade benchmarked against every other county nationally.

Why use my ZIP code instead of my full address?
Your ZIP code is enough to identify your county, and county is the level at which real outage data exists. Asking for your full street address wouldn't give you any more precise a result — it would just add an unnecessary step, since the underlying data doesn't get more granular than county.
Is this the same as an outage map or live outage tracker?
No. This is historical data — 12 years (2014-2025) of recorded outage events for your county, used to grade reliability and recommend backup power sized to your area's actual outage patterns. It won't tell you if your power is out right now; check your utility's live outage map for that.
How is the reliability grade for my area calculated?
